Christopher Winn gathered much of the material for his bestselling I Never Knew That book series while working as a tour guide and later while visiting the stately homes and festivals of Britain with a play about the National Trust. His first book was I Never Knew That About England. Volumes on Ireland, Scotland, Wales and London followed and he has recently published books on the English, Scottish and Irish, alongside an illustrated edition of I Never Knew That About England. Books on Royal Britain and on New York City are to be published in 2011. A freelance writer and collector of trivia for over 20 years, he has worked with television presenters Terry Wogan and Jonathan Ross and sets quiz questions for television as well as for national newspapers such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph. He is married to artist Mai Osawa, who illustrates all the books in the series.
